Job Role

This is a Family Violence Practitioner role that requires working with victim survivors of family violence from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individual case management and recovery support to client families, ensuring their needs are met throughout the process.
  • Provide group-based programs based on identified need and in line with the MARAM Framework, promoting community engagement and social cohesion.
  • Support work with men through the Motivation for Change (MFC) Program and associated services, aiming to reduce recidivism rates and improve relationships within families.
Requirements
  • A relevant qualification such as a Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent, demonstrating expertise in specialist family violence sector practices.
  • Fluency in Vietnamese, enabling effective communication with clients and enhancing cultural sensitivity.
  • Proven experience working within the specialist family violence sector or supporting those impacted by domestic, family, and sexual violence, showcasing empathy and understanding.
  • Familiarity with contemporary family violence practice, including crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and social justice principles, allowing for informed decision-making and evidence-based interventions.
