Family Violence Specialist Role

The Orange Door is a pioneering service dedicated to addressing family violence and ensuring child well-being.

This exciting opportunity exists for an individual to work as a Family Violence Specialist Practitioner within a state-of-the-art specialist family violence service.

  • Deliver expert advice and referrals to individuals affected by family violence.
  • Emphasize risk management, safety planning, and appropriate referrals.
  • Conduct thorough child wellbeing checks and complete comprehensive child wellbeing assessments.
  • Complete meticulous risk assessments on individuals using violence.
  • Collaborate with victims/survivors in completing MARAM's.

About You:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioural sciences at the degree level, accompanied by substantial experience or an associate diploma level with substantial experience in the relevant service stream.
  • Proven experience working with children, families, and complex family violence cases with high-risk issues.
  • Resilience to support clients who have been exposed to trauma.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and prioritize risks and needs of clients using a holistic approach.
