
Family Violence Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate practitioner to join our team in providing support to individuals and families experiencing family violence. The Orange Door is a specialist service that provides first response to those seeking assistance after family violence and child well-being concerns.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work as a Family Violence Hub Practitioner within our specialist family violence service. As a key member of our team, you will provide short-term support to individuals impacted by family violence, including advice and referrals. You will focus on risk management, safety planning, and making appropriate referrals. This role also involves conducting child wellbeing checks and complete child wellbeing assessments, completing risk assessments on people using violence, and adhering to documentation and record keeping requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualised support to clients to address their needs and promote resilience.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop tailored safety plans to ensure client safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate access to support services and resources.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to inform service delivery and improve outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioural sciences at the degree level with substantial experience or an associate diploma level with substantial experience in the relevant service stream.
- Demonstrated experience working with children, families, and family violence cases with complex needs and risk issues.
- Resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and prioritise risks and needs of clients using a whole-family approach.
