
Senior Family Violence Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Family Violence Specialist to join our team in the Western Region. As a key member of our specialist team, you will play a critical role in providing day-to-day coordination and support to a team of highly skilled family violence and child wellbeing workers.
The successful candidate will provide screening, assessment, triage, and response functions to all incoming referrals for women and women with children through an Integrated Practice Framework including child wellbeing and working with perpetrators.
You will have the ability to reflect on and analyze complex situations arising from intake, with a capacity to adapt, support, and manage change.
A commitment to working collaboratively and holistically internally, with partners, stakeholders, and the community is essential.
About This RoleThis full-time position offers the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist support and tailored advice for victims, families, children, and perpetrators.
You will be responsible for supervising and supporting a team of family violence and child wellbeing workers, providing direction as required, and supporting staff to make thorough and in-depth risk assessments for women and children.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will hold a minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, recent employment in the family violence sector, or an equivalent met through the 7 Equivalency Principles in line with Recommendation 209's minimum mandatory qualification requirements.
You will have experience in a leadership role, including providing supervision to staff, and the ability to reflect on and analyze complex situations arising from intake.
A commitment to working collaboratively and holistically internally, with partners, stakeholders, and the community is essential.
- Minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or equivalent
- Recent employment in the family violence sector or equivalent through 7 Equivalency Principles
- Experience in a leadership role, including providing supervision to staff
