Family Violence Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Family Violence Specialist to join our team within the state's specialist family violence service.

  • Location: Western Melbourne

The role is a family violence specialist service that provides first response to those seeking assistance after family violence and child well-being concerns.

You will provide short-term support to individuals impacted by family violence, including advice and referrals.

  • Focus on risk management, safety planning, and making appropriate referrals.
  • Conduct child wellbeing checks and complete child wellbeing assessments.
  • Complete risk assessments on people using violence.
  • Complete MARAM's with Victim Survivors.
  • Adhere to documentation and record keeping requirements.
About You
  • You require relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioural sciences at the degree level with substantial experience or an associate diploma level with substantial experience in the relevant service stream.
  • You must have demonstrated experience working with children, families, and family violence cases with complex needs and risk issues.
  • You need resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and prioritise risks and needs of clients using a whole-family approach.
