About the Role

We are seeking an experienced National Health Information Management Manager to lead our health information services and systems across our national network. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing health information services and systems, ensuring the quality, integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of electronic and paper medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health information policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current standards and regulations.
  • Oversee the medical records departments to ensure appropriate storage, retrieval, and destruction of all written and electronic medical records.
  • Coordinate quality improvement activities to ensure data integrity of the medical record and clinical coding.
  • Analyze clinical data for billing, quality, and research purposes, and submit data to external parties.
  • Lead the health information management team to ensure the design, effectiveness, and distribution of medical record forms and other clinical forms.
  • Facilitate recruitment, selection, and training of health information management staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Health Science (Health Information Management) or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for membership to HIMAA.
  • Previous health information management experience, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Auditing experience and spreadsheet skills.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in education or vocational training desirable.
