This role plays a critical part in the management of healthcare data and information. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility of patient health information in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to manage and improve the administrative support function of the Medical Records Department.
- Coordinate and manage the obligations and provisions of Right to Information and Information Privacy legislation, Administrative Access policy, and Personal Injuries Proceedings Act.
- Provide education to clinicians on clinical documentation and coding quality, including Activity Based Funding and Weighted Activity Unit optimisation.
- Collaborate with relevant personnel to ensure accurate documentation and reporting of patient care, and to support funding for the North West Hospital and Health Service.
The base salary for this role ranges between $132,072 to $141,738 per annum. Additional benefits include 4 weeks of recreational leave, 17.5% loading, and 12.75% employer super contribution.
Requirements- Possession of a qualification in Bachelor of Health Science (Health Information Management) from a registered tertiary institution or equivalent.
- Eligibility for membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA).
- Licence to Operate a class C motor vehicle.
