Support Student Progress

This role plays a vital part in supporting students with proactive, personalized academic intervention and progression advice. The job involves working with students to set goals, advise them on their performance and future study plans, and participate or host academic support webinars.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An understanding of Higher Education environments and study options.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., education, social work, welfare) or relevant experience in a Higher Education setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

The successful applicant will be able to build relationships at all levels and work effectively as part of a team. They will possess excellent organization skills, paying close attention to details.

This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about supporting students and helping them achieve their academic goals. If you are a motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of Higher Education environments, then this could be the ideal role for you.

Main Responsibilities
  • Utilise UNSW and UNSW College systems, teacher feedback, and student performance data to deliver effective interventions to students at academic risk in all UNSW College programs.
  • Deliver interviews for students at risk of exclusion from their course of study due to poor attendance.
  • Deliver student webinars, seminars, and support modules that advise students on progress matters, including academic improvement strategies, progress supports, transition to UNSW, and College pathway options.
  • Provide a safe space for open discussions with students in need of progression advice, academic improvement support, and alternative College pathway/future study options.
