Job Title:

Strategic Maritime Policy Manager

This is a key role within the department, responsible for leading and managing the development and implementation of effective maritime policy solutions.

The successful candidate will provide expert advice to senior management on waterways management legislative reforms and represent the department as required in relation to organisational and local, state, and national transport issues and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic policy frameworks and programs to drive maritime industry growth
  • Consult with stakeholders across government, industry, and community to identify opportunities and challenges
  • Provide authoritative advice on departmental priorities, policies, and challenges
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders
  • Contribute to the work program and positioning activities across the department

  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Highly developed problem-solving and analytical skills
