**Job Description**We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maritime Enforcement Team Officer to join our team. This role will play a critical part in enhancing our operational compliance capability by conducting on-water patrols and enforcing maritime legislation.**Responsibilities:**- Conduct on-water patrols to monitor, educate and enforce compliance with relevant maritime legislation.- Work collaboratively with other agencies to deliver compliance and enforcement programs, educational plans and emergency management plans.- Monitor vessel operations to ensure positive safety and environmental outcomes.- Undertake Aquatic Event audits to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.- Participate in oil spill response training and take a leadership role in emergency spill responses.- Assist in training regional marine officers in compliance activities.- Provide education to waterways users on safe boating practices.- Issue compliance notices as per policy and procedures.- Investigate non-compliance under relevant legislation.- Implement and report on state-wide boating safety campaigns.- Provide advice to stakeholders on nautical, legislative and technical matters.- Develop opportunities to engage with stakeholders to understand and critically examine potential risks and opportunities.- Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of MSQ vehicles, facilities and vessels.- Operate vessels in accordance with Safety Management Systems and unit procedures.- Identify and provide advice on current and potential local issues affecting safe boating.**Requirements:**- Relevant qualifications and experience in maritime law enforcement or a related field.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Physical fitness to conduct on-water patrols.**Benefits:**- Opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to ensuring clean and safe waterways.- Collaborative and dynamic work environment.- Professional development opportunities.**Others:**- Applications will remain current for 12 months.This role is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
