Policy Advisor Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Policy Advisor. This is an excellent opportunity for recent law graduates to develop their skills in policy design and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice to government departments, states, and territories on the application of Cabinet Exemptions to documents discovered during Freedom of Information requests.
  • Conduct research and analysis on key legal policy areas including anti-corruption, administrative law, constitutional reform, Royal Commissions, family law, human rights, and privacy law.
  • Assist in the implementation of environmental law reform, protecting and conserving the Great Barrier Reef, delivering the Murray-Darling Basin Plan, and investing in Antarctica.
  • Support the Prime Minister's Office in providing briefing analysis on proposed Government appointments.
  • Shadow key departments through the Cabinet submissions process for all meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
