About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Finance team at Officeworks. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting and administering 30-day accounts, providing outstanding customer experiences, and ensuring timely resolution of customer queries.

The ideal candidate will have a background in accounts receivable or collections, with excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach. You will be responsible for opening new accounts, reviewing credit limits, allocating payments, refunds, and collection calls, all while maintaining a strong focus on first-call resolution and problem-solving.

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will:

  • Provide exceptional customer service with every interaction, answering and responding to inbound customer queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Place a strong emphasis on first-call resolution and problem-solving to find a solution that meets the customer's needs.
  • Display empathy and understanding, following up on outstanding debt in accordance with our collections procedures.
  • Open new accounts, review credit limits, process refunds, and allocate payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with the setup of new vendors and ensure seamless integration into our accounting systems.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences, with a strong attention to detail and ability to plan and prioritize tasks effectively. In addition, you will have:

  • Experience in an accounts receivable, collections, or similar role.
  • Previous experience in a customer contact role, preferably in an inbound or outbound calling environment.
  • Knowledge of computerized invoicing and debtors accounting systems.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to problem-solve and ensure customer needs are met.
  • SAP experience is a bonus, but not essential.
