We are looking for a highly skilled Conference and Events Attendant to join our team at InterContinental Brisbane. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on various events, from high-profile conferences to exquisite weddings.

Job Description

The role of a Conference and Events Attendant is multifaceted. You will be responsible for setting up event spaces according to client specifications, providing exceptional guest service, and ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly.

Your day-to-day tasks may include:

  • Event setup and staging: Setting up tables, linens, décor, signage, and event materials according to client specifications.
  • Guest service: Providing exceptional service to guests before, during, and after events.
  • Communication: Acting as a point of contact for clients during events and communicating any last-minute changes or requests to relevant colleagues.

You will also be responsible for keeping track of event supplies, restocking items as needed, and reporting any incidents or issues to your supervisors.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and qualifications. These include:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or large-scale events venue.
  • Proven success working on large-scale events and a strong understanding of operational logistics.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a guest-first mindset.
  • Flexibility to work a varied roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Certification in RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol).
  • Calm under pressure, handling complaints, emergencies, or operational hiccups without disruption.
  • Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
