Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Policy Governance Officer to join our team. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing a robust policy governance framework that aligns with our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and assist in the execution of the policy governance framework.
- Ensure that all new or updated policies and related documents are consistent with the established governance framework.
- Provide expert guidance during the consultation, design, and implementation of policies and guidelines.
- Monitor adherence to the governance framework, identifying opportunities for enhancement and supporting corrective actions.
- Contribute to the establishment and upkeep of the policy library management system.
- Clarify ownership and accountability throughout the policy development process.
- Identify and report any compliance breaches during policy development or review.
- Assist in managing compliance obligations, including external reporting requirements.
- Support additional governance initiatives or programs as necessary.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- The successful candidate will possess strong stakeholder engagement skills and a proactive approach. A background in corporate policy is essential, along with a desire to become a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and implementing policy governance frameworks within a governmental or complex organizational context.
- Proven track record in best practice governance, with the ability to assist in drafting policies and ensuring compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address challenges effectively.
- Experience in driving improvements through innovative ideas and approaches to governance services.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of delivering insights and reports to senior leadership.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, law, or commerce, or equivalent experience.
