Job Overview

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer will provide visionary leadership across the organisation, ensuring programs and operations deliver high-quality services to the community.

This role works closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to implement strategic direction, strengthen community engagement, and enhance program outcomes that make a tangible difference in health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead primary health and wellbeing programs, ensuring cultural safety and responsiveness.
  • Manage government funding contracts and reporting requirements.
  • Provide leadership to program staff, ensuring professional development and high performance.
  • Support governance and accountability processes, including finance and administration.
  • Participate in strategic planning and continuous quality improvement.
  • Build relationships with community, government, and stakeholders to advance Aboriginal health outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Community Services or related field.
  • Extensive experience managing health programs in an Aboriginal community context.
  • Strong knowledge of government funding processes and program management.
  • Demonstrated cultural leadership and ability to engage Aboriginal communities.
  • Proven people leadership, with ability to motivate and support staff.
  • Strong governance, financial management, and compliance experience.
  • High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
