Job Title: Strategic Communications Advisor

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver communication strategies that enhance our reputation, strengthen community engagement, and support organisational priorities.

The Role:

You will play a key part in shaping and delivering our strategic communications. You will support the development and implementation of campaigns and initiatives that align with our organisational priorities, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, designing and delivering targeted campaigns, managing media relations, and taking responsibility for our digital presence — including oversight of the website and social media platforms.

Key Areas Of Focus Include:

  • Driving integrated communication and engagement strategies.
  • Providing informed strategic advice and practical support to strengthen our communications and community profile.
  • Enhancing visibility through targeted media campaigns and proactive media engagement.
  • Monitoring digital performance and adapting strategies to meet community expectations.
  • Supporting community events, key initiatives, and crisis communication when required.

About The Position:

We are looking for a highly motivated communications professional with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, or related field (or significant experience).
  • Strong expertise in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, and media relations.
  • Proven ability to deliver impactful messaging across digital and traditional platforms.
  • The ability to manage communication challenges in high-pressure situations.
  • Local Government experience is desirable but not essential.
