About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our catering team at Baulkham Hills. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering delicious and nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food preparation, service, delivery, and collection
  • Ensuring the Food Safety Program is followed and records are kept up to date
  • Adhering to Speech Pathology recommendations
  • Storage and Inventory Management
  • Maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen and service area
  • Organizing Kitchen equipment maintenance
  • Ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders
  • Providing excellent customer service and managing feedback in line with SummitCare's Feedback system

Requirements:

  • A current Criminal Record Check
  • Completed a Certificate III or IV in Hospitality/Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in a Cook role within Aged Care/Commercial kitchen environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, ensuring cultural sensitivity is respected
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current HACCP guidelines
  • Experience in a wide range of cooking, diet, and nutritional requirements
  • Competent in food preparation and service, cooking and plating, with demonstrated experience cooking for a large group and in sandwich making
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate catering staff with their daily duties
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and without supervision
