We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our catering team at SummitCare in Baulkham Hills. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, using fresh and seasonal ingredients.
- Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are met, and that records are kept up to date.
- Work closely with the Manager, Accommodation and Services to ensure that meals are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Supervise and coordinate catering staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our residents.
- Collaborate with the Speech Pathology team to ensure that meals are tailored to meet the specific needs of residents with dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to SummitCare's high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- A current Criminal Record Check.
- A Certificate III or IV in Hospitality / Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a Cook role within Aged Care / Commercial kitchen environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, ensuring cultural sensitivity is respected.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current HACCP guidelines.
- Experience in a wide range of cooking, diet, and nutritional requirements.
- Competent in food preparation and service, cooking and plating, with demonstrated experience cooking for a large group and in sandwich making.
