Job Title: Associate - Financing & Advisory (Real Estate)

Join our team at Societe Generale Assurances as an Associate - Financing & Advisory (Real Estate) and contribute to the growth of our Real Estate Finance sector in Australia.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to assist in the origination and execution of finance transactions in the real estate sector. The successful candidate will work closely with our global teams to develop and implement strategies for real estate investors, providing a range of solutions for financing the acquisition or refinancing of office properties, retail/shopping centres, industrial/logistics, and other asset classes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the origination of finance transactions in the real estate sector, including non-recourse and corporate transactions.
  • Structure and execute finance transactions, including market and transaction-specific analysis, due diligence, and credit application preparation.
  • Collaborate with the Societe Generale credit department and external advisors to ensure seamless transaction execution.
  • Participate in loan documentation and coordination with internal teams for primary and secondary distribution.
  • Monitor and follow up on client relationships, providing business line input on transaction monitoring and annual reviews.
  • Maintain awareness of Australia real estate market conditions and trends, including ESG considerations.
  • Contribute to the on-the-job training and development of junior staff.
Requirements:
  • University degree in a relevant discipline (business, commerce, law).
  • 3-5 years of structured finance experience, preferably in real estate finance.
  • Strong numerical skills, accounting concepts, financial statements, and cashflow understanding.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling.
  • Strong Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience in real estate finance or another structured finance environment.
