About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate to join our Financing & Advisory team in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the origination and execution of structured finance transactions across various sectors, including Mining, Metals, and related industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Modeling: Prepare, customize, optimize, and maintain financial models supporting advisory mandates, including creating and running financial scenarios and sensitivities.
  • Transaction Support: Provide day-to-day transaction support, including structuring, pricing, preparing credit applications, undertaking detailed financial analyses and due diligence analyses, and assisting the deal team leader to provide best-in-class lending and advisory services to clients.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all relevant compliance practices and other internal requirements are respected in relation to the execution of advisory & lending transactions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other business lines within Financing & Advisory, such as Infrastructure, Digital, Energy, and Real Estate, to support the origination and execution of transactions.
  • Client Relationship Building: Establish and maintain close relationships with clients, prospects, and external advisors, including lenders, legal counsel, and technical consultants.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: University degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Law) or a professional financial qualification.
  • Experience: 3-5 years' relevant experience in Mining & Metals finance and sector knowledge, or another structured finance environment utilizing similar tools, processes, and procedures.
  • Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including strong financial modeling skills, and experience in generating pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive in addressing clients' needs.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Ability to contribute to the team's efforts to build and maintain trusted client relationships, consistency and rigour in following up on clients' needs, and discipline and team collaboration to develop business adapted to clients' and markets' needs.
