Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at an aged care home in Innaloo.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the buildings, plant and equipment are maintained in a serviceable and safe condition.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Testing and tagging out equipment;
  • Minor painting and plaster repairs;
  • Basic plumbing repairs and general labouring duties;

The Maintenance Worker will support our Facility Manager and residents with maintenance services across the aged care home.

Requirements:
  • A broad range of general maintenance skills, across both building and equipment;
  • Respond quickly and effectively to maintenance requests;
  • Previous experience managing planned and reactive tasks;
  • Maintain adequate records of all maintenance performed;
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition;
  • Takes initiative and has a 'can do' attitude;
  • Experience in general property maintenance;
Essential Criteria:
  • Current A-class drivers' licence;
  • Previous experience in an Aged Care facility - desirable;
  • Current Covid and Flu Vaccinations are required;
  • Ability to communicate with staff and care recipients;
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as to work independently;
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health requirements;
  • Literacy and numeracy skills appropriate to perform the role;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Willingness to uphold the values of the organisation;
