Job Description:

As a Marketing Pricing Specialist, you'll play a key leadership role in analysing competitor, external, and internal data to identify threats and opportunities to enhance route performance. In partnership with Market Pricing Analysts and Market Managers, you'll focus on competitive analysis and market/route performance to determine pricing that will optimise network revenue. You'll also monitor the success of initiatives and campaigns to drive learning and improvement in future interventions for the Qantas Group.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in an airline revenue management department
  • Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or a similar quantitative discipline
  • Working knowledge of procedures for establishing passenger fares and passenger proration methodologies is essential; IATA qualifications in tariffs, ticketing, and proration would be an asset
  • Self-starter able to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment and handle simultaneous projects
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate numerical data and market intelligence, extracting pertinent facts, drawing logical conclusions, and generating measurable outcomes to present to senior management
  • Solid understanding of micro- and macroeconomics and interest in optimisation problem-solving, economic game theory, and consumer buying behaviour
  • Ability to make independent judgments, decisions, and calculated risks
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Desire to be part of a winning team with a matching work ethic and energy level
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration, co-operation, and communication
  • Excellent skills with MS Office; familiarity with software programs used in conducting quantitative analysis (Oracle, SAS, etc.)

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum (depending on experience)
