About the Role


The Director of Event Operations is a dynamic leader who drives the success of events at Hyatt Regency Sydney. This key position oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of events to ensure seamless delivery and exceed guest expectations.



Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Direction: Provide strategic guidance and direction to the Event Services team to achieve exceptional event outcomes.
  • Event Planning: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver tailored event solutions that meet client needs and brand standards.
  • Roster Management: Oversee the management of event staff rosters and payroll costs to optimize efficiency and budget adherence.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.


Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will possess:



  • A proven track record in events operations management within a large hotel or venue environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills to develop and support team members.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with Australian working rights and ability to work rotating shifts including weekends.
