Job Title: Healthcare Support Professional

This is a role that provides support to the Registered Nurse by caring for patients and enhancing the quality of hands-on care.

The successful candidate will work within a designated team but with the ability to work independently as required. They will provide clinical support to implement planned care to patients under the indirect supervision of Registered Nurses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical support to Registered Nurses in the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to enhance the patient experience.
  • Carry out nursing care, e.g. clinical observations, wound care and point-of-care testing.
  • Undertake clinical tasks, e.g. cannulation, venepuncture, ECG, wound care.
  • Supervise Band 2 & Band 3 Healthcare Support Workers, delegating care as appropriate.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Level 4 vocational qualification in a relevant healthcare subject or Certificate in Healthcare Support Worker Education.
  • Teaching or assessment qualification (desirable).
  • Understanding of safeguarding legislation, e.g. adults/children, The Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberties Safeguards to keep adults within their care safe.
  • Experience in a wide range of clinical skills (desirable).
