About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to lead our Newcastle office and drive commercial growth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the operations and driving commercial growth, while fostering a collaborative team environment that celebrates collective achievement.

You will work closely with the office's senior leadership group to achieve this goal. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects across ecology, planning, heritage, bushfire, NRM, GIS, and mine closure services.

The Newcastle team has a strong teamwork ethic and a collaborative approach to achieving success. You will join a team who have built client relationships through their expertise and dedication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Newcastle operations and drive commercial growth.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that celebrates collective achievement.
  • Work closely with the office's senior leadership group to achieve commercial growth.
  • Deliver high-quality projects across ecology, planning, heritage, bushfire, NRM, GIS, and mine closure services.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through expertise and dedication.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to the technical services provided by the Newcastle team.
  • At least 7 years' relevant industry experience.
  • Experience preparing a range of high-quality reports.
  • Working knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation.
  • Strong project and budget management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with or for clients in the renewable energy sector.
  • Skills transferable to the core services and disciplines relevant to ELA's Newcastle office.
  • An aptitude for kind, positive leadership of a successful, cohesive and growing team.
  • An interest in supporting others in their personal and professional development.
  • Networks and positive client relationships that you can maintain or build in NSW.
  • An ability to win work and deliver projects to the standard expected by our clients.
  • Be an active professional with extensive peer and client networks.
  • Share our values, be approachable, committed to quality, innovative and energetic.
  • Current driver's licence.
