About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Associate Director to join our Sydney office, as part of our national Design team. As part of the Landscape Architecture leadership team, you will be driving the growth and development of the LA design offering in NSW by leading and delivering high-quality technical, production, and design input to the National Design team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, managing, and coordinating all aspects of the delivery of all project sizes, including medium to larger projects with fees over AU$100,000, involving complex multi-disciplinary projects with Director support.
  • Demonstrating expert proficiency and understanding in the detail of landscape architecture and the construction processes, with an expectation of creative landscape and public realm design flair and delivery input into multiple projects from concept stage through to design development, landscape documentation, and construction administration.
  • Developing and nurturing consulting staff capabilities and efficiency by providing coaching, mentoring, skills, efficiency-related tips, and tricks, and career development, including Brightest Minds review, technical guidance, and management on a day-to-day basis.
  • Building new and existing client relationships, resulting in the generation of repeat work and strong professional networks across a range of industry sectors.
  • Confidently and efficiently supporting or leading external and internal meetings, delivering strategic Design strategies and business plan initiatives, and providing input into team building and social function planning.
  • Achieving commercial performance KPIs, including team revenue targets, utilization, personal fee budgets, and Work Under Management, through strong service delivery and effective project management.
  • Demonstrating advanced understanding of the services and value of other Business Units and the ability to speak to clients with a degree of acumen about the value other Business Units can contribute to a project or process.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to engage and work collaboratively with colleagues from other disciplines and Business Units across local offices and the broader firm on cross-disciplinary projects.

About You:

This role is ideally suited to someone with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture.
  • Experience in a Design practice and/or consultancy environment.
  • 10+ years relevant experience or equivalent experience.
  • An ability to develop and document complex landscape architecture designs in computer-aided design (AutoCAD) and Revit/BIM and graphic (Adobe Creative Suite) and 3D modeling and visualization expertise (Sketchup/Rhino 3D/Lumion) formats.
  • Strong Word and Excel skills to develop contract specifications and costing estimates.
