Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Director to join our client, a unique conservation organization that operates complementary ecotourism experiences. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction for the IT department, aligning IT projects and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic IT Leadership
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Provide leadership and direction to the IT team, ensuring effective project management and delivery.
  • Cybersecurity
    • Oversee the development and implementation of a robust cybersecurity strategy, ensuring the protection of the organization's assets and data.
    • Coordinate resources to proactively manage, monitor, and respond to threats and emerging risks.
  • Budget Management
    • Develop and manage the ICT budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, ensuring clarity around ICT projects, changes, and potential risks.
  • Contractor Management
    • Oversee all contractors and third-party supplier agreements, ensuring efficient, effective, and timely service delivery.
  • Leadership
    • Enhance growth and development of individuals through on-the-job training, experience, and mentoring/coaching opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in IT management, with a demonstrated record of leading IT teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of network architecture, system administration, and the operation of business applications.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity threats and trends.
  • Experience in developing and executing disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies.
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Experience in budget development and oversight.
