About this role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Account Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a significant portfolio of mixed SME clients and taking a proactive approach to all aspects of account management and service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Describing insurable risk to clients, designing appropriate insurance solutions, and negotiating and managing the best deal in the global insurance market.
  • Managing relationships with underwriting partners.
  • Managing your own budget, sales plan, and debtors.
  • Providing mentoring and coaching to more junior employees.
  • Driving new business development.
  • Promoting the company brand within the local business community, region, and nationally.

This is a great opportunity for a seasoned professional with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally with exposure to SME accounts. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Sales-oriented skills with the ability to build a long-term pipeline to support new business growth.
  • Strong account management experience gained within general commercial insurance.
  • A proven track record of delivering both financial and operational results.
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills complemented by a driven, passionate, and professional disposition.

Our compensation package includes a competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as four weeks' annual leave, up to two weeks' additional purchased lifestyle leave, novated leasing opportunities, paid volunteer days, health insurance discounts, employee stock purchase program, and paid parental leave.
