Job Description

The Operations Manager oversees the operational framework of a multi-domain precinct, encompassing three warehouse buildings, specialized laboratories, workshops, and enabling engineering infrastructure. The role necessitates the provision of technical expertise and strategic guidance to establish and operate pilot scale research facilities in civil engineering, bioprocessing, and energy storage.

The Operations Manager ensures the delivery of impactful research at scale for academic and industry partners through effective resource allocation and deployment. Additionally, the Operations Manager is responsible for designing and implementing efficient systems and processes, as well as providing leadership in planning future capabilities aligned with research priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and manage high-performing teams, including developing team culture, monitoring performance, providing feedback, allocating work, and staff training and development.
  • Proven organizational skills and capacity to coordinate diverse complex activities within a constrained environment, focusing on delivering client needs while maintaining high levels of performance, safety, and respect.
  • Evidence of innovative approaches to problem-solving and contributions to continuous improvement in operational processes through forward-thinking strategies.
