Laboratory Coordinator Role

The Laboratory Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining high standards of lab housekeeping, waste disposal, sample storage, and chemical inventory management.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining laboratory facilities and equipment in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Providing hands-on support and guidance to students, researchers, and technical staff on test work, experimental setup, and equipment use.
  • Overseeing procurement, maintenance, and training related to laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety protocols through inductions, risk assessments, incident/hazard reporting, and supervision.
  • Managing safety training registers and coordinating user meetings.

Applicants should possess relevant degree qualifications in Engineering or Science, along with experience in coordinating facilities or equivalent combination of education and/or training. Demonstrated laboratory knowledge and skills, including polymer processing equipment and standard polymer analysis techniques, are essential.

A strong candidate will also possess advanced technical capabilities in polymer analysis and testing, as well as knowledge of legislative requirements and operating procedures for major areas of laboratory safety.
