About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Deal Desk Specialist to join our Finance Operations team in Sydney, Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Smartsheet's expansion in the Asia Pacific region and work with a talented team to build and grow the business.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have 5+ years of relevant Deal Desk or Sales Support experience in a SaaS company, with direct, channel, government, services, and international sales experience. You will have a good understanding of sales processes, billing, revenue recognition, including structuring deals and contract management.
You will also have strong interpersonal skills, ability to consult and advise on common deal patterns, self-motivation, and ability to affect change within the organisation to improve processes. Additionally, you will be able to multitask, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Global Sales Teams for deal structuring and support other internal stakeholders throughout the sales cycle to expedite deal execution.
- Provide guidance on routine to moderately complex deal structures in a way that maximises ACV and customer satisfaction, and manages risk for Smartsheet.
- Work cross-functionally with various teams including but not limited to Sales, Finance, Legal, Deal Operations, Pricing, Billing, and Compliance to address custom deal requirements.
- Elevate specialised issues to appropriate business partners and drive resolution to those issues.
- Be the main point of contact to lead deals through appropriate approval level.
- Continuously review deal progression and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure optimal deal cycle times and precise execution.
- Adhere to a same-day response commitment to set service standards that can be relied upon.
- Review submitted Deal Requests for accuracy and conformance to Smartsheet sales order acceptance policies.
- Ensure all approved requests have been properly documented in accordance with Finance Operations and accounting processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and work towards zero processing errors.
- Establish and lead project improvement plans with defined timeline.
- Contribute to various process improvement projects as needed.
