The Injury Management Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting injured employees, line managers, and external stakeholders to achieve meaningful and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough and fact-based investigations for serious workplace injuries.
  • Strategically manage workers' compensation claims from submission through to closure.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, insurers, and internal teams to support return-to-work strategies.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and coaching to line managers and supervisors on claims handling and injury management best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, case notes, and documentation in the designated case management system.
  • Facilitate the reimbursement process with payroll and finance in coordination with the insurer.
  • Deliver internal training sessions on claims, return-to-work procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of industry-standard job dictionaries and injury management protocols.
  • Participate in quarterly insurer file reviews and state-based injury management assessments.
  • Promote early intervention for both physical and psychological injuries across business units.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years' experience in injury management or workers' compensation (ideally across multiple jurisdictions).
  • Strong knowledge of Victorian workers' compensation legislation, with familiarity across other state and national frameworks desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with employees, managers, medical professionals, and insurers.
  • Experience in developing return-to-work plans and driving early intervention strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Solid time management and organizational abilities with a proactive mindset.
  • Computer literacy across MS Office Suite and case management systems.
