**About the Role**

The Accounts Receivable Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a team of accounts receivable specialists and ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of invoices, timely collection of payments, and maintenance of positive relationships with clients.

This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing AR operations including billing, collections, reconciliation, and proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead and mentor the Accounts Receivable team, providing guidance and support to achieve goals.
  2. Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process – invoicing, payments, and fund application.
  3. Handle escalated customer queries, disputes, or payment issues while maintaining strong client relationships.
  4. Generate and analyse reports on ageing, collections, and cash flow to identify trends and improvements.
  5. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
  6. Deliver training to team members on processes, systems, and best practice.
  7. Collaborate with finance, operations, tech, and customer service teams to streamline workflows and resolve bottlenecks.
  8. Manage case work across multiple stakeholders, including investigating complaints, collecting payments, and updating job details.

**What You Bring**

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and de-escalate effectively.
  • A proven multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Prior experience with Xero or similar accounting systems.
  • Previous experience in collections or accounts receivable.
  • Familiarity with a SaaS CRM (Salesforce experience highly regarded).
  • Proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel.

**Qualifications & Experience**

Tertiary degree in Accounting/Finance/Business; professional accounting qualification desirable.
