This hands-on role is ideal for individuals who thrive in team environments and take pride in delivering efficient results. As part of the shift team at our Mill in North Queensland's Burdekin region, you will be responsible for operating the Juice Circuit, ensuring crushing of cane is productive and smooth.

The Burdekin region offers a unique lifestyle with its warm climate, stunning landscapes, and beautiful beaches. Recreational activities abound, making it an excellent place to live and work.

This permanent position operates on a continuous rotating shift roster during the crushing season, which may include weekends and occasional overtime. Once the crushing is complete, the role switches to a day work schedule with rest days most Fridays.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Optimize Operations: Monitor the Juice Circuit, including Juice Heaters, Clarifiers, Filters, Evaporators, and associated equipment, to ensure crushing efficiency and productivity.
  2. Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with the shift team to maintain smooth operations and ensure safety standards are met.
  3. Provide Accurate Feedback: Offer regular and accurate updates to Mill management on station performance and quality issues.
  4. Foster a Safety Culture: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety protocols.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To excel in this role, you must demonstrate the ability to obtain relevant competencies, such as Working Safely at Heights, Confined Space Entry, and High-Risk Work Licences (Rigger, Dogger, and Scaffolder). Experience in the sugar industry is advantageous but not required.
