Are you ready for a hands-on role in a great team environment? As an Evaporator Operator at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you'll be responsible for operating the Juice Circuit. This role works closely with other members of the shift team and Mill management.

This permanent position is based at Kalamia Mill in North Queensland's Burdekin region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. The Burdekin region offers a fantastic lifestyle with a warm climate, beautiful beaches, and a range of recreational activities, making it a great place to live and work.

During the crushing season, this position operates on a continuous rotating shift roster which may include weekends and occasional overtime. Once the crushing is complete and the Mill enters the maintenance period, the role switches to a day work schedule with RDOs most Fridays.

Your Role in Action

1. Smooth Operator: Monitor the Juice Circuit (including but not limited to Juice Heaters, Clarifiers, Filters, Evaporators, and associated equipment) to ensure crushing of the cane is efficient and productive.
2. Collaboration Crew: Work closely with the shift team to keep operations running smoothly and safely.
3. Clear & Concise: Provide regular and accurate feedback to Mill management on station performance and quality issues.
4. Safety Guardian: Show a strong commitment to safety.

Your Winning Combination

The successful applicant must demonstrate an ability and willingness to obtain relevant role competencies such as Working Safely at Heights, Confined Space Entry, and High-Risk Work Licences (Rigger, Dogger, and Scaffolder). Experience in the sugar industry is advantageous.
