Hydraulic Specialist Opportunity

This is a technical role that involves working with hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. As a Hydraulic Fitter, you will be responsible for various activities related to overhauling hydraulic components for surface and underground equipment.

  • Stripping, rebuilding, and modifying hydraulic components is a key part of this role.
  • Testing components for accuracy and troubleshooting any faults are also essential tasks.
  • Maintaining accurate records of parts used and reporting inadequate stock levels is crucial for the success of the team.
  • Providing assistance to team members and mentoring Apprentice Fitters is an important aspect of this role.
  • Ensuring quality and continuous improvement in all tasks is vital to achieving excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rebuilding and modifying mechanical components.
  • Testing and inspecting hydraulic components for accuracy and reliability.
  • Developing and maintaining accurate records of parts used and reporting stock levels.
  • Collaborating with the team to achieve common goals and objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A solid understanding of hydraulic principles and the ability to read hydraulic circuits and interpret schematic drawings is required.
  • Experience in machining operations, including lathe and mill operation, and fabrication skills is essential.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other technical tools is preferred.
  • Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and a current manual driver's license are minimum requirements.
  • Forklift License and Certificate IV in Fluid Power are desirable qualifications.
