About the Role

The Department of Justice and Community Safety seeks a leader to oversee correctional services at Marngoneet Correctional Centre.

This critical role involves developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of strategic and day-to-day operations of the prison.

As a leader, you will foster a culture that is safe, respectful, and inclusive of all staff and prisoners.

You will drive the prison to achieve Corrections Victoria's mission by providing opportunities for rehabilitation and implementing recommendations arising from the Independent Cultural Review of the Adult Custodial Corrections System.

About You
  • Extensive leadership experience with people development and a safe and supportive culture across a diverse workforce, leading by example and demonstrating values and behaviours.
  • Experience directing, overseeing, and managing daily business activities and developing effective business strategies and programs.
  • Recognised knowledge, specialist expertise, and achievement in custodial operations or similar operational program areas, preferable in an institutional context within a complex statutory framework.
  • Ability to provide leadership within a complex secure environment, preferably with clients having multiple and complex needs and/or within a legislative framework.

To be successful, you will have a strong understanding of corrections operations and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
