- Develop and implement workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and compliance across all departments.">
Maintain the Council's obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 by implementing risk management strategies, providing practical support and advice to staff, investigating incidents, delivering training, maintaining WHS registers and audits.
">This is a hands-on role that offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact on community safety.
">Responsibilities:
">- ">
- Deliver training and workshops to staff on WHS best practices">
- Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions">
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date WHS records and reports">
- Provide guidance and support to staff on WHS matters">
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a strong safety culture">
Requirements:
">- ">
- Qualification in Work Health and Safety (Diploma-level minimum)">
- Minimum 3 years' experience in WHS roles">
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and ability to apply it in Local Government">
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills">
- Current C Class Driver's Licence and White Card">
