Health and Safety Specialist

Job Summary:
">The role of the Work Health Officer plays a vital part in ensuring that our organization adheres to its legal responsibilities under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011. This involves coordinating health and safety policies, procedures, and compliance within the workplace. The ideal candidate will possess an excellent understanding of WHS legislation and be able to apply it effectively in a local government setting.
">This is a hands-on role requiring strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining open communication across teams. Key responsibilities include:

- Providing practical support and guidance to colleagues on WHS matters;">
- Investigating incidents and delivering training sessions to promote a safe working environment;">
- Maintaining accurate records and audits, as well as guiding the organization in implementing risk management strategies;">
- Collaborating with colleagues to identify and mitigate potential risks.">
The successful candidate will require outstanding communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills, along with a strong foundation in WHS legislation and procedures. A Diploma-level qualification in Work Health and Safety (minimum) and at least 3 years' experience in WHS roles are essential. A current C Class Driver's Licence and White Card are also mandatory requirements.
