Job Opportunity
Cover the role of a Workplace Health and Safety Professional in a remote Local Government team on The Cape.
Coordinate workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and compliance to ensure Council meets its obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
Provide practical support and advice to staff, investigate incidents, deliver training, maintain WHS registers and audits, and guide Council in implementing risk management strategies.
This is a hands-on role that offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact on community safety.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a cross-cultural or Indigenous community context, a Diploma-level qualification in Workplace Health and Safety, and strong knowledge of WHS legislation.
Key Requirements- Qualifications:
- Experience working in a cross-cultural or Indigenous community context
- Diploma-level qualification in Workplace Health and Safety (minimum)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in WHS roles
The selected candidate will be responsible for fostering a strong safety culture across all departments and ensuring Council meets its WHS obligations.
