Windermere Child and Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counsellor (Sexual Assault) to join our team. As a Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing specialist support to victim survivors of sexual assault, empowering them to reclaim a sense of self in the aftermath of abuse.

About the Role

This is a Fixed Term Contract to 30 June 2025, working full-time hours with the option to apply for a 9-day fortnight. As a Counsellor, you will be responsible for holding a caseload and providing specialist counselling support to victims of sexual assault.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist counselling support to victims of sexual assault
  • Hold a caseload and work with clients to develop and implement individualised plans
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for clients
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of trauma-informed practices within the organisation
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in counselling, social work, psychology or a relevant equivalent
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of trauma and trauma-informed practice
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of sexual assault and family violence
  • Direct experience providing specialist counselling to victim survivors of sexual assault
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain consumer files and databases
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence
