Victim Support Specialist

Windermere Child and Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Victim Support Specialist to join our team. As a Family Violence Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing support and guidance to victims of family violence, helping them navigate the justice system and access the resources they need to recover and heal.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct support and guidance to victims of family violence, including case management and intake services.
- Build capacity across the Victims Assistance program, including community engagement and education activities.
- Collaborate with other victim services, including Family Violence and Sexual Assault Services, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to victims' needs.
- Develop and implement tailored support plans to meet the unique needs of each victim, focusing on their safety and recovery.
- Provide consultation and support to VAP team members as required, building their confidence and capability through excellent practice skills.
- Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification in Social Work, Social Welfare, or a relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the community sector, preferably in a trauma-related field.
- Case management, intake, and assessment experience, with a focus on Family Violence.
- Risk identification and management capability, including experience with the MARAM framework.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide tailored support to victims of crime from diverse backgrounds and communities.
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
