Join Our Team as a Counsellor (Sexual Assault Specialist)

Windermere Child and Family Services is seeking a skilled Counsellor to provide specialist support to victim survivors of sexual assault. As a Counsellor (Sexual Assault Specialist), you will hold a caseload and provide trauma-informed counselling services to individuals affected by sexual assault.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term contract to 30 June 2025, working full-time hours with the option to apply for a 9-day fortnight. You will be responsible for providing specialist counselling support to victims of sexual assault, working closely with the Windermere team to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all consumers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold a caseload of clients and provide specialist counselling support to victims of sexual assault
  • Work closely with the Windermere team to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all consumers
  • Develop and implement trauma-informed practice to support clients
  • Assess and address the needs of clients, including psychosocial assessment and the MARAM framework
  • Prepare written reports and maintain consumer files and databases

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in counselling, social work, psychology, or a relevant equivalent
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of trauma and trauma-informed practice
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of sexual assault and family violence
  • Direct experience providing specialist counselling to victim survivors of sexual assault
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain consumer files and databases
