About the Role

We are seeking a Family Educator to join our team at St Mary's Cathedral College Sydney.

This is a pivotal role in the Mission and Identity team, working closely with SCS Church Engagement Officers.

The Family Educator will work in partnership with a range of stakeholders, including the principal, parents, parish priest, parish staff, Religious Education Coordinator, and church agencies.

The successful candidate will be a significant contributor to the religious leadership of the school, requiring adaptability, creativity, and the ability to customise their work to meet the specific needs of the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage parents and families with the religious life of the school and parish
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide support and resources for families
  • Contribute to the religious leadership of the school and the broader educational, ecclesial, and communal context

Selection Criteria:

  • Strong and active commitment to the practice of the Catholic Faith
  • Experience in parish/pastoral ministry
  • Ability to articulate an understanding of the evangelising and catechising mission of the Catholic Church
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
