About the Role

As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be part of the Defence Member and Family Support Branch (DMFS) South Australian team, responsible for facilitating connections between Defence families and their wider community.

The Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with Defence families, key stakeholders, and the local community to promote social functions and networking opportunities.
  • Organise and facilitate events to promote DMFS programs and services.
  • Develop innovative ways to communicate information about local resources and services to Defence families.
  • Participate in Command and Unit facilitated events and functions for families.
  • Build knowledge of community services and engage with service providers to inform them of Defence family needs.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic and multidisciplinary team.

About our Team

The Defence Member and Family Support Branch (DMFS) Directorate of Regional Engagement offers a range of programs and services to support Defence families and the wider community.

We work collaboratively to provide crisis support, referrals to external agencies, information on local services, education advice, and general information on Defence matters.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a team player who can use their initiative to provide innovative solutions to engage with Defence families and connect them with the local community.

Strong stakeholder engagement and excellent communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, be able to coordinate functions, prioritise tasks, and demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality.

What We Offer

A competitive salary package, including a base salary of $76,277 to $83,274 per annum, plus up to 15.4% superannuation. Some after-hours and weekend work may be required, along with occasional overnight travel.
