Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Officer, Contract Management to join our team at the Department for Human Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and delivering projects that drive results and growth, while building strategic partnerships and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management
    • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
    • Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying and mitigating risks
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project alignment with business objectives
  • Contract Management
    • Negotiate and manage contracts with service providers, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures
    • Monitor and report on contract performance, identifying areas for improvement
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize contract value and outcomes
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including service providers and community groups
    • Communicate project plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address issues, ensuring project success
  • Business Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for business improvement, developing and implementing strategies to drive growth and efficiency
    • Monitor and evaluate business performance, identifying areas for improvement
    • Develop and implement plans to address business gaps and opportunities
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Relevant tertiary qualification in a field such as business, project management, or a related field
  • Experience
    • Proven experience in project management, contract management, or a related field
    • Experience working in a government or public sector environment
  • Skills
    • Strong project management and contract management skills
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
