About the Role:
The Community Supports Services team at Challenge Community Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting clients with disabilities, focusing on skill development and enriching their lives through engaging, creative activities.
About You:
- You will be confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs.
- You will be resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- You will be skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
- You will be flexible, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
- You will be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
- You will hold a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- You will be able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
- You will have full COVID vaccination status.
- You will have experience with high-needs Disability clients.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent is desirable.
- Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes is desirable.
- Handy craft skills (sewing, knitting, crocheting) are desirable.
What We Offer:
- Schad's Award Level 2 pay rates $33.41 - $36.46 based on experience and qualifications (base rate).
- Salary Packaging Options including an Entertainment/Meal Card, allowing you to use up to $2,650 of your pre-tax income per year (if eligible).
- Flexible working hours on a fortnightly roster.
