About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at Challenge Community Services. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing essential assistance to our high-needs clients, aiding with personal care and daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to clients with disabilities, including assistance with daily tasks and activities.
  • Support clients who use wheelchairs and have additional medical needs, ensuring they receive the necessary care.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to promote autonomy and support residents around the clock, fostering independence within a shared living environment.
  • Handle complex situations with empathy and composure, making a meaningful impact on the lives of our clients.
Requirements
  • Confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs.
  • Resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
  • Holder of a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
  • 3 COVID Vaccination Doses: Fully vaccinated with 3 doses.
  • Experience with high-needs Disability clients.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable).
