About the Role

The Vice President of Engineering and Product is a strategic and visionary role, responsible for leading and driving the development of the vintrace product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute the overall product and technology strategy and vision for vintrace aligned with Encompass' business goals and market opportunities.
    • Establish OKRs, metrics, and KPIs to measure product and engineering performance and progress towards strategic goals.
    • Report on metrics to executive leadership.
  • Product Leadership:
    • Develop and achieve the company's product strategy and roadmap including leading the ideation, design, development, and launch of new products and features.
    • Oversee the product lifecycle from conception through launch, including market research, product planning, and performance analysis.
    • Drive product innovation by identifying market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscape insights.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize product features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on business impact and customer value.
  • Engineering Leadership:
    • Lead the development and delivery of the technology roadmap that is capable of scale and supports the product and overall business strategy.
    • Lead and manage the engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software products within established timelines and budgets.
    • Implement best practices for software development, including agile methodologies, code quality, and Dev Ops practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with sales, marketing, customer support, and other departments to drive product adoption and customer satisfaction.
    • Work closely with executive leadership to align product strategies with overall company goals and to report on product performance and progress.
  • Team Development:
    • Recruit, develop and retain strong strategic and technical talent; define a high-performing product and engineering culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration where team members can do their best work.
    • Establish clear performance metrics and provide regular feedback to team members.
  • Customer Focus:
    • Advocate for the customer's needs and ensure that product development is centered around delivering exceptional user experiences.
    • Engage with key customers and industry leaders to gather insights and validate product direction.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in product management and engineering leadership roles, with a demonstrated track record of successfully launching and scaling technology products.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Skills: Experience with a range of development technologies including: JSF, React, Typescript, Java, Kotlin, AWS Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, JBoss, Spring Boot, My SQL.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to develop and execute product strategies that drive business growth.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Team Management: Experience managing large, cross-functional teams and working with executive leadership.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
