A Wellbeing Carer is responsible for creating engaging experiences that cater to residents' diverse interests. This may involve planning activities such as art classes, gardening clubs, day trips, or movie nights. The goal is to ensure that every resident has something to look forward to, whether it's within the care home or beyond.

Effective communication is crucial in this role. You will work closely with residents, their families, and other team members to understand their needs and preferences. Your ability to connect with people from all walks of life will help build trust and rapport, making it easier to provide personalized support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the facilitator of fun activities, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.
  • Foster a sense of belonging by connecting residents through social events, games, and chats.
  • Provide supportive companionship, assist with daily living tasks, and offer emotional support to residents with cognitive impairment or mental health needs.
  • Gather feedback through surveys and family conferences to ensure activities meet residents' needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the Lifestyle Coordinator and care team to plan activities, document progress, and escalate concerns as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements

While formal qualifications are not necessarily required, having experience in caring for elders within an aged care or community setting is essential. A First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one) and Australian driver's license (preferred) are also highly valued.
